I'm thinking about playing around with savory waffles. I love breakfast for dinner as much as the next person, but I'm wondering how to dress it up for special occasions. I was thinking about making waffles with thyme and topping them with a mushroom cream sauce. Maybe serve them with a side of proscieutto wrapped asparagus.
I want to serve cocktails with that as well, but that's sort of where I get stuck. I want something sort of crisp and a little acidic to balance the cream sauce, but nothing too light.
